Palestine (yellow circle) and Yarmouk (red circle) stadiums
Two major sports facilities in Gaza City were used as mass detention and processing hubs during operations. Large numbers of detainees were assembled in fields/stands; subsequent disappearances are under investigation, with concerns over extrajudicial killings and undisclosed burials.
The Gaza report compiles geolocated videos and photos showing detainees stripped, restrained, and held in open-air pens. Witnesses describe on-site abuse and removals in transport convoys. Where the taken detainees were ultimately held or buried remains a central line of inquiry. Imagery time-series tracks heavy vehicle ingress/egress and field surface disturbance coincident with detention events.
The closeup satellite image, from Yarmouk Stadium on April 2nd, 2024, shows heavily trodden grass. A video reportedly taken by an embedded Israeli journalist showed the site being used as a detention center by the Israeli military in December of 2023. While Khthon was able to independently verify that the video was taken at Yarmouk Stadium, it couldn’t find the original journalist, only a Quds News Network (QNN) social media post containing some of the video.
The video posted by the Quds News Network showed stripped men and boys detained in the camp at Yarmouk Stadium.
